In-app tour: “Tradovate Connection Guide”.
Tradovate is a futures trading platform with its own brokerage. You’ll need your Tradovate account credentials to connect.
Credentials. Enter your Tradovate username (or email) and password — the same credentials you use to log into the Tradovate platform. Enabling 2FA on your Tradovate account is recommended for security.
Live vs Demo. Tradovate offers both live and demo accounts. Check Is Live Connection for real-money trading and leave it unchecked for simulation. Double-check you’ve selected the correct mode to avoid accidental live trades — demo accounts are a great way to test your copy setup first.
Common questions:
- Can I use the same credentials for live and demo? Yes, but create separate connections for each.
- Why does the connection fail even though my password is correct? Check whether 2FA is enabled — you may need an app-specific password.
- Are there API rate limits? Yes, Tradovate has limits; the copier handles them automatically.
If the connection fails:
- Verify your credentials at tradovate.com first.
- Check that your account is active and funded.
- Make sure you’re not logged in elsewhere.
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting.
- Check the Log tab for detailed error messages — the copier logs connection errors in detail.
